Community Drug Prevention & Drug Education

The Community Drug Education Program is a community initiative having the purpose of seeing the benefit good willed individuals can produce on a community and in turn the country.

There are currently over 25 million drug users in Canada and the United States and an increasingly large number of those are children. Ours is a nation that largely praises quick fixes and easy relief, which leads to drug experimentation followed by drug addiction.

Hab Health Society supports drug prevention education programs which are effective and engaging for students and teachers in Canada.

We partner with any well intentioned and healthy groups forwarding and supporting drug-free and alcohol-free students throughout schools in Canada.

Staff have educated tens of thousands of school children through the Narconon drug education and training programs. Our program has demonstrated effectiveness in teaching kids the truth about drugs. Knowing the truth about drugs keeps kids off drugs.

Training programs in communication and other life skills are conducted with high risk youth. Peer Leader training provides high school students with the skills needed to help counsel their peers and prevent them from using drugs.

Outcome studies show that early drug prevention must give young children the truth, the vital information and tools they need to make their own choice to keep away from drugs. Our track record over the past two decades is impressive with key results being reported.

Evidence Based Education

By continually monitoring trends in youth substance abuse, Hab Health Society staff keeps pace with changing community needs. Presentations are real and reflect what kids are actually doing.

Our Vancouver, BC drug prevention education programs collect surveys after every presentation to generate data on changes in perception of risk, program efficacy and for quality control. Schools are required to use strategies that provide evidence of prevention or reduction in drug use.
